Here I wanted to create a sci-fi bridge which was made of light. I was inspired by the light bridges from both Halo 4 and Portal 2. Just like the light bridges in those games I wanted my light bridge to have a sort of pulse that goes through it as if it was “updating” it to keep the bridge strong and solid enough to be walked upon.
In order to do that I created a mesh with two UVs. Then I could tile all small details but still make the bridge as long as I wanted and have that pulse going through the whole object. I also added some distortion effects which I think came out pretty good.
I also made some simple models to have the light bridge come out of.
